Painted by native Greenville artist, Dwain Skinner, this Bird's Eye View signature fine art poster commemorates the 15th anniversary of the Liberty Bridge, a one-of-a-kind suspension bridge located in downtown Greenville. Gracing the cover of the 2020 Official Visitor's Guide of Greenville, SC, the bridge "seemed like a natural focal point given its importance to the downtown’s resurgence and its aesthetic appeal."
The artwork itself is a multimedia piece, synergistically incorporating antique paper and texture collage, hand painting, and digital elements. The unique perspective provides the observer with a dynamic view reaching from the heart of downtown to the nearby foothills, incorporating aspects of the both the city and surrounding Greenville County.
Dwain Skinner attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities before earning a degree in Fine Arts from Winthrop University. Just a short time after completing this piece, Dwain unexpectedly passed away. His wife, Meredith Skinner, officially opens their joint effort and lifelong dream, Woodbine Studio, on Friday, February 14th, 2020.
